Find Us at the College Art Association Conference
Hello art lovers! The countdown is near and there are only a couple more days until the CAA Conference. We’re excited for the event, are you?
Understandably, a conference of this size can be overwhelming for first-timers. So, here are some guides to prepare you for the conference and to help you find us once you get there!
First of all, you’ve got to find it. The CAA Conference will be taking place at the beautiful Hilton Chicago.

If this is your first time attending the CAA Conference (or any large arts conference), take some tips from the CAA:
- Be sure to bring extra business cards for networking
- Wear comfy shoes
- Plan your “30 sec elevator introduction”
And, here are some tips for during the conference:
- Live tweet this! If you’re in to social media- like me- use the hashtag #CAA2014 when tweeting about the conference. I’ll be looking for your tweets!
- Dress in layers
- Pack snacks
- Arrive early to grab your badge and conference information
- While listening to a talk or session, think of questions to ask at the end.
- Network!
- Mail all your fliers, swag and books to your home address if you’re traveling by plane. Avoid a heavy bag… and paying extra money.

Everyone from art material manufacturers to national colleges will be at the Book and Trade Fair. Meet an editor, find a great book, test a new ink, chat with authors, find a cool RESIDENCY or EXHIBITION OPPORTUNITY… This of course includes your very own Starry Night Retreat.
We will have our own booth open through the entire exhibition hours: Wednesday, 10am to 5pm, Thursday and Friday 9:00am to 6:00pm, and Saturday 9:00am to 2:30pm. Come find us at booth 506! Look, we even made a map for you:
