Frieze Art Fair: the City of Dreams
“Frieze descends on New York and makes the city not just the center of the global art world, but its entire circumference.”
Here’s a little clip to help you envision what’s to come:
Ever accidentally walk into a spider web and let out an involuntary shriek? Well, here’s an opportunity for you to voluntarily walk into an artist web which would only leave you speechless! Frieze New York is the contemporary art fair of the year, that deserves all of your attention. Here’s why:
Along with featuring over 190 of world’s leading galleries, this year’s fair will be hosting Frieze Talks as well! Some of the participants include: Masha Alekhina and Nadya Tolokonnikova of Pussy Riot / Zona Prava; Okwui Enwezor, Artistic Director of the 56th Venice Biennale; Kenneth Goldsmith, poet and author; Joshua Oppenheimer, director of The Act of Killing (2012); and Adam Szymczyk, Artistic Director of documenta 14.
Located in an inspirational setting itself, over 1,000 artists will be showcasing their works for sale for artwork collectors, to meet new artists, and to hand over their inspirational batons for people seeking for new perspectives!
Frieze New York is the place for sponge-like personalities to absorb all that they can. Conversational flows may turn into poem exchanges, lining up for the toilet may just introduce you to your favorite artist of the fair.
Moreover, the fair will also be introducing works of a total of 7 artists that will be participating in the Frieze Projects program.
“Located both inside and outside the fair, the seven projects aim to short circuit the usual activities that take place on the island and at Frieze New York. As a whole, the projects envision new temporary spaces for reflection on the role and use of free time in our society.”
With all these opportunities taking place all at once, it’s an honor for us to be a part of it all!
